HEY STEVIE’s second release titled The World’s a Better Place is released and in production. The much anticipated CD comes on the heels of Hey Stevie member Tom Jacob’s recent stint with The Beach Boys Family and Friends. Tom has reunited with Hey Stevie founder Steve Heger and has produced a gem to their follow-up debut CD Death By Heartbreak.

Steve Heger and Tom Jacob have been in the music business for most of their lives. Tom has musical roots dating back to his childhood and has shared gigs with the likes of The Steve Miller Band, Buffalo Springfield, Three Dog Night, and Iron Butterfly. He and his brothers were the band that backed such greats as Big Joe Turner , Chuck Berry, Canned Heat and T-Bone Walker. At one point, they were managed by Pat Carlin, George Carlin's brother and writer in which they did many college performances with George. In the eighties, Tom's first exposure to Beach Boy music was working with Stevie Heger in his early studio engineering days, engineering for Al Jardine at his Big Sur studio "The Barn". Stevie had been a long-time engineer for Al Jardine, Stevie introduced Tom to Al and thus the start of his stint with The Beach Boys Family and Friends.

To find the genesis of Hey Stevie you have to go back to the 80's when Stevie & Tom worked as studio musicians for various major recording artists as well and many independent projects. It was inevitable that the many collective efforts of these two would branch off into an new independent body of work known as "Hey Stevie". Accompanied by Kevin, Paul & Ahaguna, currently completes out the band's lineup.

Originally formed in San Francisco, Tom joined Stevie in a new project, a "work in progress". Thus after the teaming of these two, started a collaboration like no other. Some ideas that were conceived separately and at times even hundreds of miles apart, were found to be written verbatim of the other. Indicating a unity of creation. Writing, producing and playing on their first LP,  Death By Heartbreak ,  Hey Stevie emerged with a cutting edge pushing to the top of  The College Music Journal and the "Top Ten" of many college stations.

Accompanied by Kenny Franklin/Bass and Vocals,Paul Stafford/Guitars and Ahaguna Sun/Drums and Vocals, Stevie,Vocals/Guitars/Drums & Tom, Vocals/Keyboards/Percussion, Hey Stevie had arrived.
The follow up, The World's A Better Place, clearly defines Tom & Stevie's ability to produce and perform together, once again with Kenny, Paul and Ahaguna rounding out the band.

After recording was completed on TWABP project, Kenny Franklin departed from the band and was replaced by Kevin McMullin who performs on the Track Sail on Sailor & is now bassist for the band. These guys aren't stopping here. Already at work on material for a third album, Members of Hey Stevie, when not on the road with Al Jardine of  The Beach Boys, are performing on their own. Be on the lookout!
