Hey
Stevie Releases “The World’s A Better Place” Mountain View, CA — January 21, 2002 —Rock music group Hey Stevie announced the release of the band’s second CD project entitled The World’s a Better Place. The ten track CD contains mostly original cuts with a brilliant cover of the Beach Boy classic Sail on Sailor that has a fresh twist for a whole new generation. The World is a Better Place clearly defines Hey Stevie's ability to produce and perform together. “This work is an exhibition of hope, honesty and endurance.” comments lead vocalist and songwriter Stevie Heger, “Confident the World still has so much to offer, the latest CD demonstrates the ability to pick up the pieces, leave hard times behind and push forward.” The demise of the Berlin Wall was the inspiration for the title track, The World’s a Better Place. As keyboardist and songwriter Tom Jacob explains, “That event reflected the way all people break down their own personal barriers everyday in life in order to move forward spiritually as one and with one another. I was deeply touched by this event.” Originally
formed in San Francisco, Hey Stevie’s Stevie Heger & Tom Jacob met
as studio musicians and have shared the stage with the likes of
The Steve Miller Band, Buffalo Springfield, Three Dog Night, Iron
Butterfly, Big Joe Turner, Chuck Berry, Canned Heat and T-Bone Walker.
Stevie Heger had been a long-time engineer for Beach Boy great Al Jardine.
Stevie introduced Tom to Al and thus the start of their stint with Al
Jardine’s Family and Friends. Writing, producing and playing on their first LP, Death By Heartbreak , Hey Stevie emerged pushing to the top of The College Music Journal and the "Top Ten" of many college stations and sold nationally through Tower Records. Accompanied by Kenny Franklin on Bass (now replaced by Kevin McMullin), Paul Stafford on Guitars, Ahaguna Sun on Drums and Vocals, Stevie on Vocals, Guitars and Drums & Tom on Vocals, Keyboards and Percussion, Hey Stevie had arrived. The new
release, The World’s A Better Place , will be available on-line
