BIO
The
Maynard Brothers Band is a powerful four-piece group centered in
The Capital District area of upstate NY. The
MBB is comprised of the brother tandem
Ervin and Jeff Maynard and brothers-from-another-mother,
Harold"Clutch" Reiser and Gary "Zeke"
Brajczewski. The twin guitar attack of Erv and
Zeke shares the spotlight with Jeff's powerful vocal delivery, and
it's all held together by the driving
bass and drum combo of Jeff and Clutch.
This group of brothers and friends has played together in some
form or another
since the mid 1970s. Their mutual respect and friendship shows in
their energetic,
powerful performances.

In
2003, The MBB went to Memphis for The International Blues
Challenge after capturing
first place in the Northeast Blues Society's Colossal Contenders
competition. There,
they showcased material from their just released second CD,
'The Maynard Brothers Band - Nasty Packages' on the California
based record
label, PacificSol. Over 30 fans from the Capital District made the
trip to Memphis to
root them on. They shared Beale Street's The Tap Room stage
with rising star Alex Maryol, Norwegian sensation Amund Maarud and
Arkansas' fine trio,
Jason and The Tablerockers. Although the MBB didn't win the
big prize in Memphis, they made a big impression on the fans and
many blues
music insiders. Other highlights of 2003 included playing The
Glens Falls
Blues Festival, Centreville, Maryland's Bay Music Festival, The
First Annual
Lake George Blues Festival and numerous club dates. The band
returned to
many of these festivals by request to play the 2004 events. The
band always
opens eyes with their rugged, roadhouse-rocking brand of original
blues.

The
MBB also has a song, 'What To Do' from their self-titled debut
CD, in a movie
"Love Thy Neighbor", which has been dubbed "one of
the year's best
indie movies". The Just Plain Folks organization nominated
'Down To The
River', also from The MBB debut CD, for "The Best Blues
Song" in their song-writing
category out of thousands of entries. 'Down To The River' placed
sixth in the final voting. The MBB has also received excellent
reviews on both of
their CD's from recognized magazines like Blues Revue and Blues
Access and various magazines and newspapers. A common theme in
these reviews
is a recognition of The MBB's excellent, original songwriting.
These songs are
performed by a tight and versatile musical act.

Having shared the stage with Jimmy Vaughn, Jimmy Thackery, The
Kentucky Headhunters,
Albert Cummings, Kenny Neal, Sue Foley, Dona Oxford, Deana
Bogart, Roomful of Blues, Tom Principato, Ernie Williams, Alex
Maryol, Amund
Maarud, Jason and The Tablerockers and many others, and being
recognized as a force
in song writing and musicianship, The MBB has the experience
and desire to take command of the stage at any venue.

As
of this writing, The MBB is a finalist in the 2004 Just
Plain Folks
Awards for Best Blues Album, 'Nasty Packages', and Best
Blues Song, 'Nasty
Packages'. Over 10,000 CDs and 140,000 songs were reviewed
for this year's
awards. Their third CD on PacificSol Records, 'Take It From
Me', is now
complete and on sale. Ervin Maynard again penned
all the songs for this effort with The MBB putting their
collective signatures
on each and every one of them. The MBB feels this is their
strongest and
most cohesive collection of tunes to date and crowd reaction
from the songs
performed live reinforces this. 2004 is turning into another
fine one for The
Maynard Brothers Band. |
