Lanny
Ray and The Reels “BARE BONE” is the first release from the
Southern California blues trio. BARE BONE contains an array of
blues and contemporary blues material with rock underpinnings.
The band’s debut release features 12 tracks of Lanny Ray
originals with a dose legendary blues classics. The CD is laced
with up-tempo cuts like “Jet Black Ruby Red” and
“Everybody’s Got The Blues” surrounded by blues-swing
grooves like “Me and My Baby”. For the purists, traditional
slow blues is featured in another Reels’ original “Soul
Blue”. Lanny’s guitar intro to C. Burnett’s “Who’s
Been Talkin’” sets the tone for the rest of the CD and opens
with a signature Lanny Ray riff.
