The
Out of Control Rhythm & Blues Band:
Thursday, August 2, 2007
The Bayou Café
They are back! The Out of
Control Rhythm & Blues Band. With that same horn-driven,
powerhouse sound that turned many a performance into a funky,
no-holds-barred dance party during the ‘80’s & ‘90’s. Thursday,
August 2 – The Bayou Café, 79 North Pearl Street, Albany -
9:00PM – immediately following “Summer Brass Night” at “Alive at
5”.
So Where Have They Been?
After over 20-years blistering the local and regional music
scenes with incredible blues and funk, Out of Control members
took a
2-year hiatus to recharge their
blues batteries and complete some personal music projects. But
now they’re back and taking no prisoners. Expect to hear funky
covers and originals from their ’96 release Shake The Nation
as well as many of the other tunes they’ve performed over the
years.
Who’s In The Band Now?
Out of Control is still eight members very strong. The band
features seven familiar Out of Control faces: Denny Dwyer on
guitar and lead vocals; Rick Rourke on lead vocals, saxes, harp
and rhythm guitar; Ken Drumm on baritone sax; Chris Cernik on
keyboards; Joe Rocco on drums; Lucas Ruedy on bass; and Pete
Giroux on trumpet and flugelhorn.
There’s One New Guy Too!
There is one new member on the group: 16-year old tenor sax
wunderkind Nate Giroux, who just finished his junior year at
Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. Yes, he’s Pete’s son. And
the kid’s amazing! Wait until you hear the kick ass Out of
Control horn section with young Nate trading solos with Rick
Rourke.
Don’t Miss Our Return
Performance.
OOC plays R&B that'll start your hands a-clappin'. Funk that'll
get your body shakin'. An' blues that'll tear your heart out &
sacrifice your soul.
So, don't fight the feelin'....,
GET OUT OF CONTROL. Thursday, August 2 - 9:00PM at The Bayou
Café, 79 North Pearl Street, Albany, NY (immediately following
“Alive at 5”)
